What is TR-90 Grimalid

All Kontrol Eyewear is made from a nearly indestructible nylon which is called "Grimalid TR-90 LX".

Technically speaking "Grimalid TR-90 LX" is a transparent and tough thermoplastic engineering polyamide.

"Grimalid TR-90 LX" offers excellent bending strength and stress crack resistance ,suitable for injection molding and extrusion. It has high resistance to UV, is low density (so it's very light), and has a high resistance to chemicals such as Sunscreens etc.






This means it is "good stuff"!

Children's Sunglasses

Do children need sunglasses too?

During early childhood, excessive exposure to sunlight can cause harm to the eyes of children.

What kind of harm?
Sun-burned corneas, cataracts, cancer of the eyelid and macular degeneration to name a few. This is a result of the harmful UV radiation of sunlight.

For children less than 10 years old, the risk is greatest, for retinal damage from the harmful UV radiation of sunlight. The consequences seem not to become apparent until adulthood. more
